Stephen L. Reisman, M.D.
Dr. Reisman graduated from the Boston University School of Medicine in 1981. Over the next ten years, he trained and practiced in a variety of clinical settings, including work in hospitals, emergency departments, and private practices of family medicine and of mental health. During his time in mainstream medicine, he observed certain patients’ needs not being met. Specifically, little or no work was being done with the natural, biological ways of the human body or with the mind-body connection.
It was during those years that Dr. Reisman began to explore forms of healing not included in mainstream medical practice by communicating and working with established “alternative” doctors, by reviewing non-conventional medical literature, and through affiliations with the American College for Advancement in Medicine and the American Holistic Medical Association.
Since 1991 Dr. Reisman has devoted his time to practicing medicine with a mind-body-nature orientation. He continues to dedicate himself to a way of practicing medicine that recognizes the benefits of a truly integrative approach, incorporating natural medicines, alternative treatments, and attention to mind-body connections into the established spectrum of medical care.
